“Oriental Expression Awards” is an Institution that organizes Dance Competitions, aiming at not just promoting traditional and modern dance trends and techniques, but also at rewarding all those who serve the art of Dancing and always strive for the best.

“Oriental Expression Awards” organizes the 6th International Bellydance Competition. The Competition is open to Dancers of all levels (Beginners, Advanced and Professional) from Greece and Abroad. It features all styles of Oriental dance (Folklore and Modern) as well as Tribal Fusion Bellydance. Ms Anna Dimitratou is the Artistic Director and President of the Committee, alongside with internationally acclaimed teachers and dancers.
Participations are accepted ONLY via email (info@orientalexpression.gr) from Wednesday 02/02/2022 until Monday 7/03/2022. Those interested can participate either live in the competition or by sending a video.

TERMS OF PARTICIPATION
- Presentation time limit: 2 minutes (Beginners, Advanced & Open Level) & 3 minutes (Professional level, Duets and Group category)
- Dancers who participate live, should send the music as well as the video of their choreography by March 7, 2022 the latest. We clarify that the video is necessary for entries with physical presence as well and that it should be a complete presentation with a costume.
- Dancers who participate via Video, should send the video of their choreography by March 7, 2022 the latest.
- Attention: All Videos must be recorded in landscape, full dimension and high resolution. The Committee will not accept: video editing, effects, mixes, acceleration or slow down and recorded with more than one camera.
- Props (fan veils, saidi sticks, veils etc.) are allowed in all Categories (Kids, Teens & Adults).
- Groups consist of three (3) dancers and more .
- In Group Categories there can be an age exception for only one participant
- Participation of the teacher/choreographer is not allowed in the Group Category
- Music tracks must be sent via email at info@orientalexpressionawards.gr no later than the 7th of March, 2022. Tracks that exceed the aforementioned time limit will not be accepted.
- Participants are not allowed to enroll in solo categories of different levels (Beginners, Advanced and Professional). Multiple participations are allowed in a solo category of a certain level, group and open level categories.
- At the venue of seminars and competition will be accepted:
Adults: holders of a Certificate of Vaccination or Disease, or a certificate of negative diagnostic test for COVID-19 (PCR or rapid test, 72/48 hours respectively) before entering the venue.
Students (5-17 years old): negative self-test, within the last 24 hours before entering the venue. - Facemask use is mandatory in all areas except the stage
THE JUDGES PANEL
Participants are judged by an extensive Committee that consists of well-known teachers, choreographers and dance experts. The PRESIDENT of the Committee is Mrs. Anna Dimitratou, and the Honorable Judge is the Oriental Superstar Diana Gnatchenko.
- ANNA DIMITRATOU: Creative Director of Artistic Studio Oriental Expression, Bellydance and Bollywood Teacher, performer and choreographer
- PRINCE KAYAMMER: Award-winning Bellydancer and one of the leading Oriental instructors and choreographers in Greece and abroad.
- NTIA PILATOU: International Bellydancer and teacher, Dance School owner and organizer of “Venus” Festival.
- EVA CHANTZICHRISTOU: World Famous Greek Tribal Fusion Star, dancer, teacher and choreographer.
- SORAYA SHOHEIB: Actor, Bellydancer, choreographer. 2nd Best Oriental dancer in the world in the year 2015!
- NELLY GLIKIOTI: Performer, master teacher and choreographer. Organizer of “Orient Cyprus International Bellydance Festival”
- SARA TOSCANO: Oriental dancer and teacher from Portugal, certified Middle Eastern Dance teacher by the Rotterdam Arts Foundation in Netherlands.
- ELISAVET DAKOUTROU: Dancer and teacher in classical and modern dance, specializing in Tribal Fusion Bellydance!
- MARIA TRAKA: dance teacher, dancer and choreographer Tribal Fusion Bellydance! Owner of a dance school and organizer of the "Terpsis" festival.
The contestants will be judged on the basis of their Technique, Choreography, Synchronization (for Duets and Groups), Stage Presence and Musicality.
RESULTS – WINNERS ANNOUNCEMENT
The Results of the Competition as well as the detailed scores for each participant will be posted PUBLICLY at orientalexpressionawards.gr. A personal code will be sent to each participant by e-mail, along with the Certificate of Participation. Each participant will use the unique personal code in order to identify his/her rank amongst the other participants.
DISTINCTIONS AND PRIZES
- Every participant shall receive a Participation Certificate.
- The winners of each category (1st, 2nd and 3rd price) win:
- a. Medal (Gold, Silver or Bronze) from Oriental Expression Awards
- b. Signed Certification by all Judges
- c. Special Present with Oriental Expression Awards logo.
- 1st price for all categories wins: 1 gold statuette of distinction
- The Gold Winner in the Professional Category “Bellydance Star of the Year” will be additional awarded with a Professional Bellydance Costume, offered by the event’s sponsor “Ioanna Pakou Costume Designer”!
- The Gold Winner in the Professional Category “Tribal Star of the Year” will be additional awarded with a Unique Headpiece, offered by the event’s sponsor “Nicol Pasiphai”!
- All participants will receive beautiful gifts offered by the event’s sponsor “Silky Diamond” by Yara Vera Dagher!

Solo Category (teens & adults): 25 euro
Solo Category (kids up to 11 yearls old): 20 euro
Group Category (of more than 3 participants): 15 euro
